If [Borrowed originality]
If I could know everything
And know I’ll forget it all
If I knew what it is to be young
And also how to grow old
If I could surge like a river
And look as calm as the sea
If I could be everybody
And know whom to call ‘me’
If I knew an answer
And could still question me
If I knew what the end is
And could still leave this incomplete...

ReplyDeletepoet, would you kindly give me a brief account of the voice in the poem?what state is it in? i was caught up in the multiplicity of the voices, was able to appreciate individual units of the poem, like in a ghazal but a as a whole; my understanding calls for your explanation....
ReplyDeleteyes ya....it really is more like individual units only....but somehow the theme required them to be like that....not sumthing tht i brought deliberately but thot better to let it be like that
ReplyDeletei dont know, but i somehow appreciate the way to disrupt notions through your verse.. your explanation understood.. liked the Asian flavor in the western language..
